Confectionery Sunflower Beta Products Trial
A preliminary test was conducted on new hybrids during the growing season of 2018, from which new products will be selected.
In a commercial sunflower field, we isolated a patch of plots in which the combinations were planted. The new hybrids were grown under the same conditions as the field surrounding them. In the commercial field, we planted a generic open pollination XXL type.
Please see the attached chart which contains data of all the new hybrids as well as pictures of the products. Notice there is a vast difference in characteristics such as size, color, shape and the resistance level of the products.
